Only way to resolve the clutch bleed issue is replace the master with a brembo rcs16 or better. Cured the issue on my 1299 instantly. First replaced the slave to oberon and still had air in system after 200 miles, swapped the master and I don't have any issues now.

I tried aftermarket slave cylinder too and the rubber o rings would go bad, and leak. You can’t easily find them either.

Noticed that the slave cylinder design is quite different than what I've seen in previous Ducatis. I noticed when I saw the new ones from CNC Racing.

Maybe the design made the oem version more prone to the failure? If the recall does not solve it like somebody here said... Then I might have to replace it with aftermarket slave then clutch master cylinder after that...

Here's what it looks like. OEM and CNC Racing.

My clutch was basically useless after two track days last week. Fortunately having an adjustable CRG lever got me home. Dealer bled the system the next day and are ordering me another cylinder. Not sure I want to spend money on an aftermarket one. Dealer is only a few blocks away, so I can always just have them bleed the system for me. Upsetting that the stock system is so poor.

On my RSVR I used really thick copper crush washers on the slave and the master cylinder. Plus I torqued them down good. That seemed to help. The factory crush washers look to be thin aluminum or some cheap metal. I used thick copper ones, almost double thickness, and they sealed nicely. Auto zone or other places have them. Just get ones that have the same inner diameter as the factory ones.

For interest sake, what are the last digits of your vin. I have seen as high as #3300.
Apparently, there is point where the slaves were changed to a superseded one. It was somewhere after #2000 . Can say exactly where.
So basically everyone before approx #2000 has the old type .

My VIN ends in 39xx and still have the problem. New slave part number with higher VIN maybe?

But I did read somewhere else on this thread that the problem persisted even after the replacement part.

I would imagine if clutch goes extremely soft due to air, it wonít function properly and may cause the engine stalling. In my case it wasnít that severe. But it had a tone of free travel.

I hear that it is super easy to bleed. Place a rag over bleeder (do not spill any brake fluid anywhere ), pull the lever in, crack the bleeder and close it, release clutch. That should release the air. I havenít tried it yet, but I bleed brakes without problems and it is pretty much what you do.

Got the bike towed to dealer as we speak and yes, definitely clutch problem as the clutch is extremely low, 1st 3 quarter is like a free play..... i will let the dealer fix it and if same problems arise again in the future after more track day, they better have solution for it.
