Not even a question that the V4 was going to take the cake. I love mine in just about every sense and can't see anyone topping it. I think the race for the crown next year may be a little tougher with BMW's RR revision pending launch.

Not surprised. The V4 is a great bike. I thought I was done with sport bikes but the V4s sucked me back in and I love it. Next year it will no doubt be relegated to just another great fast sport bike among 2-4 others, but I will still have that stupid grin on my face

Funny you say that . I thought I was done with bikes and going to the track and was considering chucking it in and finding another hobby .
The V4 has made me enjoy being on the bike again and trying to give it a belting around the track . Thanks V4

I thought I was sold on the twin and didn't want to budge on my R. I took the plunge and initially, I have to say, I wasn't happy. But the more time I spend with this bike the better it gets, its about the engineering and whats underneath that makes this bike special.

I've had to change my style to suit, I love the riding position and the way it feels like it floats on the tarmac until you barrel into a corner and it just sticks.

So you like it more than your R now in terms of riding style and performance? I had a 2015 R and loved it. Still have a 1299 and it puts a smile on my face everytime I go out. I've been on the fence with V4 for a while now and trying to figure out if it will be worth it. Thanks in advance for your inputs.

I traded my 2015 Panigale R in on the Speciale. I placed a deposit on the bike in November 2017 and canceled twice. I was skeptical that the V4 wouldn't be as good or as special as the R. I finally took delivery in July. Initially, I was underwhelmed by the lack of torque. I thought, "I have made a grave mistake". I went out the next day with an open mind and retrained my throttle hand. I changed the sport setting from medium to high, reduced wheelie control to 1 and DTC to 3 and it was a different animal. The torque is still less than the R but the torque curve lasts much longer and the power is frightening. But, even better than the power is the ease at which you can ride the V4 quickly. In my opinion, the V4 handles better than the R. The R would always be hunting for a steady line towards the apex whereas the V4 is more accurate and stable. Did I mention that it fast AF!
