Ducati have sent a new oil cooler and water pump to my dealer, no part number just came in a plain box. Dealer described both parts as modified/braced and possible corse parts. Instructed by factory to fit to my bike only.

After what’s happened to me I’m getting a different bike, either another new ‘s’ or maybe ‘r’

I spoke with my dealer yesterday, they were nice enough to look at the latest parts list which did not show a revised oil cooler part number. I am drafting multiple emails with photos to my local shop. They were not aware of an recalls or technical service bulletins with regard to the oil cooler.
I will submit my vin to the national website for a recall. I took photos of my oil cooler and it appears that one of my oil cooler fittings is leaking but has not failed yet.

The picture of his replacement clearly shows they have added material to that joint in the cooler and looks like the connector is now brazed in and not glued in. Looks like a totally new part to me.

Complaint submitted to the NHTSA. I'll post up any official responses. I'm going to NCbike this weekend for a trackday. I'll keep a good eye on my oil cooler. Ride safe.

I got back my bike back on Friday...

I had to pay the oil and oil filter because I said that I need fresh oil inside.
My dealer wanted to use the old filter and old oil which was already drained in a buckle.
The clearance between the plastic body kits are not the best.
The back of the bike was still covered with oil. I had to clean it at home.

Does somebody know any telephone number to contact Ducati in Italy to complain about the dealer?

That really sucks!!! I hope that the nhtsa reaches out to me with regard to my filed complaint. I am keeping a good eye on my oil cooler. So far it has held up but one of the fittings does appear to be slowly leaking. The engineers that designed this oil lines must have been drinking too much wine at lunch. There's just no enough flex on the hose to address the vibration. Yes the cooler is rubber mounted.

What the hell? Did you talk to the owner of the dealership? What was their response?

I checked mine last night. Seemed fine. It looks like they used a flexible line between the two fittings in order to take any flex away from the fittings itself. Must not be enough for some of you guys.

I sold my S1000rr, and started looking into picking up a new V4s. After reading this post and few others with minor stuff, I am seriously now considering. I had a an 08 R1 for eight years, and a 15 s1000rr for 3 years, and I never had an issue. Never had to take them in to dealer. And these were ridden hard. I like the new V4s, but it seems that quality is just continued from the previous models.

Most likely I will wait to see what BMW comes up with next year, or if Ducati makes any changes. I feel bad for you guys, paying $28k plus tax and to go through this crap,, plain simple sucks...
Thanks from carlpretzel
