lamborghini aventador exhaust (and about any titanium exotic car exhaust I've seen)

honestly I was originally just joking around , but The exhaust I bought in the beginning of when it became normal options for bikes cracked a lot . In the beginning of their use in motorcycle racing If i remember correctly they cracked a lot of the time which made them cost prohibitive for the street and even in racing they failed too much . Akrapovic has some advanced technology to bend pipes , but if you notice when the bend is past a point they weld sections together.

That's all true. A lot did fail which is why is the point I was making - I don't know why people continue to choose that method for so many applications - but yes, in cases if the bend is too extreme then the pieces do have to be welded. But there's a big difference between a couple of welded sections and like 52.

As far as titanium exhausts in Italian cars goes, here's one of my cars and you can see that we deliberately did not go with 100 pie cut sections. Yes, there are multiple sections but the pipe thickness between the inside and outside on bends is pretty consistent. Also, I am a supplier to the highest level of motorsport (four wheels not two, though) and they opt not to do welded pie cut sections like that. Obviously, it is not realistic to make all bends out of one continuous piece of tubing but, as you correctly pointed out, there are reasons not to do the opposite either.

The exhaust I ordered is titanium and has plenty of sections, but doesn't resort to pie cuts for the bends. I had a Werkes exhaust with pie cut titanium on a different bike a year or two ago and one of the mounting bracket bolts wiggled loose, allowing the exhaust to wiggle a bit. I noticed it immediately, but before I could even get to a stopping point, the exhaust broke at one of the pie cut sections.

Took it to a local welder and he said the pie cuts looked really pretty but made it weak. So I'm not a big fan of that kind of thing anymore.

Carbonvani will have the Arrow system on their 'Tricolore' Panigale V4 at EICMA 2018. It still looks shit despite the bike it's fitted to and their attempts to soften the blow with a custom made bellypan. The phrase "You can't polish a turd' comes to mind.
