I was looking at one of the motorcycle shootouts, and the V4s took a 3rd place, behind the 2018 Bmw s1000rr.

I agree with the above post. I don't see the 2019 BMW being beaten by a V4. I think I heard that the 2019 was faster than a 2018 by a full second (assuming being tested at the same track and similar conditions). I would assume that the brakes in this case helped in achieving those results as well. But we will see.

I Ride: V4 S Corse (ordered)
every bike has a different riding style. So it will fit you more or less than another bike.
The BMW has always been more a stop-and-go bike, while the Aprilia has been the master in corners.
I like the Aprilia more, while my buddy swears by the BMW.
Each and every one his own taste and what you feel good about

Quite a few people in this thread are referring to the "new" S1000RR as a 2019. I know it's confusing, but the new S1000RR is a 2020 model according to my local dealer. That makes sense, as the 2019 has been available for some time now.

But the new one will be available in 2019. Not a lot of 2019-models will be sold, as most customers will probably wait.
And saying it is a 2020 model is part of their "selling-you-the-future"-philosophie
