The headers recall must have been the first batch of V4s, I called in to check if my V4 I bought in june had the header recall and it did not.

Of course you never know if someone has the info wrong but as far as I know, I'm in the clear for that work.

Likely. Mine was one of the first delivered. By the time they pulled them and went to get new ones the part numbers were already superceded with the new headers.

Agreed this bike laughs at my abilities or lack there of, I'm trying. Last year at VIR south I saw an indicated 180MPH before my reference point to brake into turn #1 an off camber right hander that catches many people out. That is the fastest indicated speed I have ever seen!! The brits clocked these things at 191MPH!!
The bike makes me look like I've got skills. On the back side of the course there's a first gear right hander that opens up to high speed chicane section. The control rider behind me said that was I leaving big black marks on the pavement and white smoke was coming off the tire because of the high amount of wheel spin!!! I was at mid lean with the TC set at 2. Under normal circumstances I'd probably get high-sided off the bike, this did not occur.

Ha! That is awesome. Love hearing other's experiences with this amazing machine. I'm ready to go riding again!

Also, just for reference, we've got the brits beat by 7mph. I recorded 198mph on the GPS @ COTA on the long back straight (riding a Speciale). Was kinda bummed we didn't break the 200mph barrier, but that 198 is the highest we've ever seen from anything else at that track during a track day.

I'm sure in full race trim, the V4R would surely surpass that number. All I know is I'm grinning from ear to ear under the helmet every time I toss my leg over the bike.

198 mph GPS... OMG!!! That is extremely awesome. I thought the 191 number was incredible already. But I believe it. The bike has ferocious power and cuts through the wind slippery and stable. I see an indicated 180-184 every lap at Fontana Auto Club Speedway, but I'm sure that if I can get a better drive onto the straight, I can blank out the speedo. The only issue is that front wheel is lifted in 3rd gear entering the straight at 130 mph and sometimes I get some head-shake, haha. So, so, so much fun.

I dropped off my Speciale yesterday at my dealer. They are doing the radiator swap and I gave them engine ice to put back in vs. antifreeze. They are also doing the clutch line so I decided since they were going to have to bleed the system Iíd have them install CNC clutch slave cylinder at the same time. I also told them to look at the quick shifter because itís messed up a few times while up shifting. Hopefully they find something there also.

There is a service bulletin out for the quick shifter. Sorry I didn't ask for details. They thought my quick shifter was AFU. I don't use the quick shifter on the street so I turned it off. Ask your dealer about that service bulletin.

Sorry flrthedumquestion but what’s the difference between a recall and a service bulletin ?

Somefun what problems have you had with your quick shifter? My speciale is number 455 and when I’m accelerating quite harde around second or 3rd it some times almost cuts the engine and it’s as if I hit a brick wall As if I’ve hit a hard rev limiter which I’ve not as I change we’ll below anywhere near the limiter

Thanks
Nick

Same thing man. In second sometimes trying to shift to third it just wonít up shift. You wind up trying to up shift twice to get it there. I thought it was me but Iíve never had an issue with any of my other girls....

This is my guess. If Ducati is anything like the FAA, a Ducati technical service bulletin is lower priority then a Recall.
Reach out to your dealer and ask for a copy of the service bulletin. I should have asked for a copy of the 15 page document, sorry.
