You have to be insane to use full power constantly on the road
You're missing the point. Saying the power isnt enough.. Of course it is! But if youíre being sold something and you get something substantially different... Iíd still be annoyed.

Ducati's flagship R is less powerful than the mid range S in stock form.
Thanks from panis

That's about right. 230 hp at the crank = about 195~200 hp at the rear wheel.

200 a the wheel is actually really good. Plus the engine has only 31 miles. It will pick up some horses when broken in. 234 with akra is a the crank and not the wheel. I am picking mine up in a couple weeks. It will have the full Akra system on.

I have been riding with a few guys who have the V4 here in SoCal and while they donít represent everyone, the represent the majority. They show up on with all their sponsor laden matching gear and proceed to ride like a recently licensed individual on a Rebel 500. Unless youíre competing, dyno and spec # are for parking lot and chat board bragging rights. My neighbor has some supercharged mustang thingy. 800hp he claims. Itís never been over 70mph. Itís kinda like the scale folks. Some people are obsessed with the data it puts out but what does it really tell you?, your relevance to gravitational forced on this particular planet. Unfortunately no matter what the data shows, it doesnít change the fact that you may still look like you need a fitness plan. Now letís get back to posting how many micrograms we can save by drilling out a washer and posting the side by side scale pics.
You're missing the point, my point is are you getting what you PAY for.

I'll be the first to say 140whp is all you'll ever need on a sportsbike. Anymore is a bonus , most people cant ride a 600 properly let alone a 1000cc on a track. I get that . What i dont like is companies saying their vehicles make so an so when really.. They dont.

Ducati have been KNOWN for exagerating power figures in the past.

Remember when they said the 1098 would beat a zx10r in acceleration?
LOL

Because i do. I didnt see this thread otherwise i wouldnt have made the one i did about the dyno numbers.

This was my point also. Basically in stock form the V4R is less powerful than the V4S and base which isn't great given the difference in price.

I Ride: '16 Pani R, 1098R Bayliss, KTM1090R.
I guess we have seen this scenario several times over the years. One of the biggest
let downs was probably the Yamaha R7, which was completely castrated out of the crate,
and needed you to open your cheque books again in order to unleash its potential.

It doesn't appear that the V4R is as hampered as the R7, but they still want you to pay
extra to unlock what you already bought.
