So... I went for a ride to test the theory that somehow foot position can induce shutting off behaviour. To my surprise I was able to cause it at will.
I noticed that I tend to slightly preload the shifter in anticipation of the next shift. When doing this the bike would shut off and restart.

I'm now convinced that at least for some of the cases this is rider induced.

Do you think Ducati should do something about it though. I mean that's like me saying well I'm getting ready to shift and preload my clutch. I drive a manual and my car shuts off. I mean come on there needs to be a fix. That's a hazard waiting to happen. For this amount of money of this pretty but pain in the butt bike.
Cuz I'm having the same issue, just my bike never did it before this most recent update.

It’s not a good idea to preload the clutch can wear away at shift forks.

I was not preloading the shift lever that much, certainly not enough to cause any abnormal transmission wear. I think the ignition cutout mechanism / sensor does not have much of a tolerance. On the flip side, I suppose, adding more tolerance could result in sloppier clutchless shifting.

Hes preloading the shift lever which, I assume, is causing the DQS sensor to cut the ignition thinking he is shifting.

I have noticed this problem as well. It has occurred when I am going relatively slow 40-50 mph. It lasts about 20-30 seconds and then stops.

I wonder if this is related to an OEM engine mapping issue. I would be curious to hear from guys that had the problem and then did an engine flash and exhaust change out to see if the problem went away.

I really doubt it is a foot positioning problem in my case. I thought of this potentially being the issue when it first happened and was conscientious of my foot placement. It also happened in a multitude of corners when I ride on the balls of my feet.
