As for keeping up, well... I'm certainly cautious on public roads I'm not familiar with, but give me a few laps to learn where the hidden driveways, oncoming left-handers, gravelly turns, etc. are found and I'll give you a run for your money - or at the very least will make sure you are not bored :-)

I agree, it is getting cold but when it is warm these roads are the best I have ever ridden. The risk now but not in Spring are leaves, and just the other day my front tire for that split second hit some leaves and I faded into the other lane, yikes.

I agree, you need to become familiar with the roads. Each route, point A to point B is around 40miles and can be done in less than half an hour in gears 2-3-4, so it is possible to do the route a couple of times each way. I never ride roads without a center yellow line(s) and the most extreme roads have no residential driveways. Definitely, no gravel and I never ride turns fast unless I can see through them. Because these roads are not well trafficked, you have the roads to yourself and very very rarely see police. Because I have a home/farm in the Catskills I never try to out race the police but rather I stop for flashing lights and/or slow down if I think the police are chasing me. This respect for the Police is what has kept me out of trouble and usually I get a ticket for bald tires rather than a speeding ticket :-)

I look forward to riding with you and anyone else who wants to have a spirited ride on some challenging twisties. I am happy to host a ride/event this coming Spring/Summer!

Until then, ride safe...
