Passanger seat cowl Vs Kriega US20 bag
 
Hi,
I am thinking to replace my passenger seat with Ducati seat cowl that in my opinion looks much better.
Unfortunately I read some opinion of Kriega bag owners that in some cases seat cowl do not hold bag as good as regular passengers seat cowl might sometimes drop out.
Does anyone experience any problems with its seat cowl and installed Kriega bag?Does it hold good enough and there is no paint deterioration on seat cowl after using it with bag?

I put the passenger seat on when I use the Kreiga Bag. You need to cover the paint on the tail with some 3m or you will get marks. I used stuff supplied by Tank slapper. I also bolted the attachment straps under the seat. It took some fiddling as I used different bolts. When not in use I keep the straps tucked under the cowl.

Thanks for information.That is what I was afraid of that I will have to swap cowl and seat whenever I want to use Kriega bag. On my S1000rr all works fine but there was no cowl installed.

Hey brad can you snap a photo of the way you have it arranged with the bolt the next time you remove the seat cowl? dc

FYI, Kriega makes a specific Fit Kit for the Panigale to use the US bags. It works pretty good and still allows you to hide the straps under the cowl when not in use.

Just a quick note. The Kriega Panigale kit that is currently out is only for the 899/1199. I just checked with them to order one and was told that Kriega is currently developing one for the 959/1299, so now we wait.

I like the kit BUT I wish it was a little beefier and as a previous post mentioned i am stuck with the passenger seat on and cant use the cowl unless i remove or turn the hook straps inside. I have yet to do that with great achievement. My passenger seat has a small gap if you will with the bag strapped on it. I have had two packs on and all was well.

What I do is keep the front two straps on permanently but the rear two straps i keep off until I'm going to use it. It's only 2 screws and takes 5 seconds each to put them on. This way, the seat cover can go on flat. Also i didnt think they had to be beefier but I did wish they were about 1cm longer. Though it works very well anyway.
