Pista Gp and new Pista GP-R review

Having both I figured I'd throw out my thoughts on the helmets.
The Pista GP is an awesome helmet, fit my head shape perfectly, looked amazing and awesome airflow. Was to noisy? Well they give you earplugs with every helmet just to give you an idea. Ya its loud, but cmon its a racing helmet you know exactly what you are getting into. It moves through the air really well and I never experienced wind shake with mine. I know some of the first gen helmets had issues with the visor tabs, luckily I never did, and the euro spec ones had the annoying sweat band for your forehead.

Now the new version.... You're going to remove the hydration system, believe me, it sits right in your mouth. So, kudos if you're actually going to use it, if you're not well..... Its going to bug the shit out of you. The helmet seems to fit better, hugs my skull a little better, and before you say think its because that helmet was broken in I assure you I had a new GP right next to the R when I tired it on. The revision to the visor for the pinlock was a much needed upgrade. the openings for the vents are metal now which is a nice touch, the spoiler on the back is new and looks awesome. Not having it on the track yet I can't confirm it is better, although at excessive road speeds I seems a little more stabile. It actually has the emergency cheek pad removal like arai and shoei now, so in the event you need it, its a good addition. Overall? its a better helmet. I think of it like the 1199 and the 1299, more refined and better overall. Im sure the Corsa R is a solid upgrade also and I do look that hemet, but........ Carbon Fiber!!!!
Thanks from Jaouad and flobrandx

Thanks for the write up Kevin and good to hear it's an improvement over the previous model. I did try one on and agree the hydration tube is in your face. I'll be removing it as I can't use it with the D-Air suit. Kinda dumb a 5k suit doesn't have this option... Have you seen or heard when the tinted visors will be available?

I just received mine but haven't been home to touch it yet.

I got a tinted visor with the Rossi replica one, they have a notch in them for the pinlock, so it doesn't hit the visor gasket like the old one used to

I've already mentioned this to him in the past but the truth is, we're just jealous.

That is a ridonkkkkulous closet! Be careful with the weight load on those cheap plastic racks. I had the exact same thing in my closet until I got home from work one day and found my closet like it had been burglarized.
