Photochromatic visor -

Hi,

I'm planning to buy new visor for my Shoei X-Spirit 3 helmet (have the stock only now) Shoei CWR-1, Visier photochromatisch - motoin.de and was wondering if it is worth the price. Is anyone using photochromatic visor (any helmet brand) and can share his experience and knowledge about it? Thanks

Have one. Its fantastic for not knowing if you'll be out all day, BUT, if you know you're ONLY doing a sunny day ride my vote goes to the dedicated dark shield. Its not as dark as I would have hoped for, but its only smoke when dark so thats to be as expected. Its very quick to react as well.

I paid $139 shipped for mine.

I have one on my Bell Star Carbon.

Its Great!
But not as dark as a normal tinted visor.

Only thing is use some tear offs as they are not cheap so replacing due to a few stone chips is not as easy as with a tinted

I have one on a Bell Star Carbon, I generally like it except when going rapidly in and out of shaded areas, the response is a little slow.

Cheers

Same I own Few Bell helmets and bought couple of those transition shields. Love them, as most of the people said, it doesn't get as dark as most of the visors but it is great for whole day riding or when you go thru places with shades. One of the reason I ditched my shoei few years ago. Not that it is available on shoei, I might reconsider it again

I run it full time and love it. You won't be disappointed. 2 things though...first, it smelled terrible out of the packaging and I had to clean it a few times to get the fish off it. second, it takes a few uses to really get nice and dark in the sun. I wore it a couple weeks before I really noticed it working at peak transition.
