Cant decide on a suit

Hey all. After owning my 899 for a little over a year I am planning on getting into track days this summer. I also do a lot of riding in the mountains about 2 hours away from home. I'm gonna need a suit for the track and I cant decide between a 2 piece or a 1 piece. I like the idea of a 2 piece simply because I can wear the jacket when going up to the mountains and I believe it will be more comfortable when I'm venturing around for long periods.

I am definitely set on getting airbags so my options are,

- Dainese D-Air Misano Perforated Race Suit
- Alpinestars GP Pro Leather Race Suit For Tech Air Race with the airbag system
- Alpinestars Missile Air Leather Jacket For Tech Air Race paired with Alpinestars Track Leather Pants and the airbag system

They are all near the same price so that's not really a factor, just curious on what you all would recommend.

Thanks for any input - Aaron

The problem with a 2 piece is most times the jacket is short so you canít really wear it by itself. What I did was buy an individual jacket and pants and zip them up.

I have the A*** Missile leather tech air paired with their Missile airflow pants. I’m short with athletic build so the jacket fits across the chest but slightly long. When the two are zipped together- no problems but zipping them together is a pain due to the location of the zippers.

2-piece suits always SOUND like a great idea, but in reality, they're almost always a terrible idea. Besides what was mentioned above, they also are uncomfortable due to all of the extra bulk around the middle of the suit. Just get a proper 1-piece suit and you won't regret it.

I got the Missile 1 piece this year for my upcoming track-day beginnings and really like it. I prefer the hip armor of A* to Dainese and the fit is quite good. I had the same thoughts about ability to upgrade to airbag and itís comfortable and well built. I havenít ridden in it yet because itís still in the 30ís here in Chicago, but Iíve been on the bike and like how it feels there and wearing it around the house.

2 piece, single breasted in either a dark charcoal or navy. No place for a 3 piece these days unless you are an undertaker.

Agree that 1 piece is more comfortable, best bet is to try them on and see what fits you best. It used to be that Dainese quality was much higher than everyone else ( and consequently the price ) but Alpinestars stuff is pretty much just as good these days.

I have the Missle 1pc suit for the track and the 2pc for the street. I couldn't be happier with both, they are great.

1 piece for sure.

I would decide based on your budget. The more you spend, generally, the more comfort and protection you will get.

Like above 1 pc for sure.

Only difference really between 2 Dainese and Alphines is that Dainese, you can do "In-Boot" option where latter you cant.

Why does that matter? It does to me. I guess I have a shorter leg than how these are cut so I prefer In-Boots option like Valentino. Much more comfortable for me.

I brought matching pants for my Jacket to do track days to "save some money" I did this for over a year before I picked up a suit on sale.

So much better. Regret buy pants now as never use anymore.
