How-to install Sato racing hook on 1299 (S)

So I saw my buddy Speedy has Sato racing hook on his 1299S and I thought it doesn't fix (according to Sato racing website) but I took a chance ordering a set since I saw it was possible. when I got it, I tried fit test it and sure enough it doesn't fit since the exhaust heat guard is in the way and the holes wont' line up. Anyway enough with finding, here is to make it fits:

1. Remove (x4 screws) the rear hugger for excess room
2. Losen(not completely out) x2 8MM underneat exhaust heat guard screws
3. Install Sato racing hook with 8MM screws that comes with it-make sure you apply lock-tite on the screws
4. Torque the exhaust heat guard screws back to manufacture spec

The only down side is the hook will touch the exhaust heat guard as you can see from the picture

Cheers!!

I just use a shorter bolt and an Allen wrench to tighten.. If you push in a little you can get them in and they work fine..

Based on the Sato logo, it looks like it's upside down.

Good point, will try to reverse it and see if it's still hit

Update! it's even worse if you have rightside up for 1299 model so you better off install it upside down
Thanks from RRnold

Yep me and Speedy14 took our Duc past memorial trackday. We had a blast. Speedy
was mixed up in the mid pack and I was cautious and much slower at the back of L3 (fast group)

On the Sato website, there is a warning note at the bottom for the Ducati race hooks that it isn't compatible for 959/1299s.

Sato hook AND passenger pegs: are you some sort of bondage movie producer?
