maybe loctite wasn't invented back in 1990? seriously....

maybe D expects the dealer to go over most bolts with loctite? maybe D expects the owner to? certainly they don't require the workers to loctite much of anything as it would increase build time by 30min easy.

We're riding a v-twin here folks...it's going to vibrate to all shit. The dealer even warned me, "Is this your first Ducati?" "Yes..."..."Okay you're going to want to do a once over of all the bolts about once a week."

In the beginning, but point is, having 2 threads dedicated to bolts needing tightening? It's a motocycle, forget it's a twin, which is worse, bolts need tightening, or they get loose. in 3K miles I had one mirror bolt loosen the first week. It's just funny, not as bad, but up there with the why-rust-on-brake-disc thread

Example from my 1978 Z1R.

I agree.... But the world we live in today moves personal responsibility and makes it corporate responsibility.... Do I check my bolts?? Yes.. Do I check all of them?? Noooo.. I do make certain assumptions regarding the assembly procedure that take place in the factory.... reading such threads make me think I give them too much credit...

I haven't loctited any myself. The only bolt that fell off immediately was a mirror bolt, but that was a PDI fail, the other one was completely loose. Since I go over them once a week, nothing has fallen off.

Don't anyone check them, my point is just don't be surprised they get loose.

Ha! That's the first bolt that fell off for me. Got home and found the reservoir flapping around. Found a replacement in my spare bolt drawer and Locktite'd it good.
