Nice! you should be set then.

As soon as you get your stuff, install the software on your computer and then connect the cables to your bike and right before running the MelcoDiag, turn the ignition switch on (dont need to start the bike) then load the program.

If by any chance you cable is not being recognized you need to install the drivers (I have them or you can find the link on the jpdiag forum)

Once all that is done, it should recognize your bike (vin number should show up and a couple more things...) and that's when you click the "register" button and within a day or two you should be getting an email with a file that you need to save in the same folder where you have the melcodiag files saved. ---- That's when you can delete codes, reset service lights and all the fun stuff... without registration you can't do anything (you can see if you have errors but not delete them)

Have fun!

How do you register?

It works fine, talks to the bike I enter all the info and when I press register the box comes up but I can't copy and paste it into the register page at
http://jpdiag.akress.com/jpdiag.php

If I click ok then the program no longer responds and have to reboot.
Running a fresh copy of win10 pro x64 had the program with admin rights.

Have you tried launching the program in windows 7 compatibility mode?

Alternatively, you could use virtual box, install windows 7 or xp and launch the software that way and see if that helps?

This actually WORKS! I have done it on my bike (2013 1199) but you have to make sure you buy the right stuff:

You need to buy a cable that transforms the bike's 4 pin connector (under passenger seat) to 16 pin OBDII, then also an OBDII scanner (for cars).. then download and register the free software and you are set!

The ELM327 1.4 USB OBDII scanner has to have the FTDI FT232RL chip:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ELM327-USB-C...gAAOSwdzVXvgoG
Price is around $20

The 4 to 16 pin you buy it from an UK website called lonelec:
http://lonelec.co.uk/index.php?route...h=4+pin+ducati
Price $20ish shipped (dont remember exactly)

And the software is MelcoDiag:
Download/registration and info can be found here (if you have questions you can register in their forum and they usually reply pretty fast):
jpdiag
(its the software at the very bottom of the screen for the bikes with Mitsubishi ECU)
Price FREE! - I use it with Windows 7 64 bit

VIDEO OF LIGHT RESET:
For the OBD2 Scanner the link you had is no longer available; I found the same seller with this one:

ELM327 USB OBD2 Scanner Modified HS CAN MS CAN Switch FTDI FT232RL + PIC18F25K80

I reckon that's the new auction for a comparable item?

Seems like it should work, doesn't look exactly the same as the one I bought (graphics wise) but the specs seem to be equal. Give it a try!

I just ordered the scanner and 4 to 16 plug. Once I get it ill download the software. Does anyone know if this scanner will work on a 2015 S1000R and 2016 S1000RR? If it does Im sure correct connector needs to be purchased. Its most likely not the same as the 16 pin the Duc has
