Quick Shifter fault

Hi all,

I have noticed that the quick shifter on my Ducati 1199 has an issue.

Going from 5th to 6th, it momentarily goes into neutral and then slams into gear.

Anyone come across this issue at all?

Cheers

Neil

More than once, but not so much with 5 to 6 as with other gears. It seems as if I get lazy and don't strongly actuate the gear lever it happens.

One of these days I'll get out the Tuneboy and try changing the settings, either making the delay longer or shorter.

not taking the piss but lower your gear level a bit, they have a longish throw I found. Drop your lever as low as you can without it feeling abnormal. I think I ended up going 2.5 turns or so, worked a treat.

I have found it happens if you do not take the pressure off the gear lever between the shifts. Teach yourself to deliberately back off the lever a bit and it would never happen again.
Thanks from Marmoot and bp7178

Tuneboy will not fix that, the ignition cut has nothing to do with the physical distance the gear lever must be moved to engage gears.

I have had this bike coming up on 3 years and can count on one hand the times I have hit a false neutral. It has only happened when I have been half hearted with an upshift.

Yes me too, just be solid with the up shift and it's fine.
