1299 heat improvement

picked up the 1299 2 weeks ago, and ride it to work a few times, heats issue seems drastically improved compared to 1199, anyone feel the same?

How do you like the 1299 compared to the 1199?. I have been debating on upgrading to the 1299, it sounds like an amazing bike! Actually from what I have read the 1299 has more heat issues so not sure.

Did your 1199 have the heat shrouds that they started installing two years ago?

I Ride: 1299s
I feel more heat from the standing cylinder which has the standard covering installed on my 1299S.
The under seat heat seems to be a good improvement to my old 1199.
But it is still not summer in Germany so the temperatures has not been too extreme.

Heat accumulation could be the result of the cylinder cover.

The heat from my 1299 is HOT on my right bum. Not unbearable, but HOT enough to get your attention.

I did what another gentleman on here did. We cut strips of aluminum backed heat strips and stuck them on the underside of the seat.

If the 1199 was hotter than the 1299, all I can say is..."Lord have mercy!"

NVM, summer is here, and the damn thing is just as hot haha

i like the 1299 quite a bit more than the 1199, still a mental bike to ride, but much more accessible

doing the first track day of the season this Sunday, will be able to tell in full

I commute every day on mine.. But YESTERDAY!!! HOLY CRAP!! It was 103 degrees at my house and the commute was bloody torture; I could barely deal with the heat.. I got home and had to jump into the shower immediately to cool off my lower extremities.

How bad was it??? Let's say, I might not be capable of fathering any more children...

On my cross country jaunt I rode with a bag of ice in my underwear. No joke.

To be fair, I only did that in the Southwest, but still!

I have been seriously contemplating that solution; I have those blue Ice bags in our freezer.. I was thinking I should take a few to work with me and leave them in the freezer there for emergency heat situations like yesterday...

Today, it's a relatively cold 72 degrees.. No fried eggs TODAY!
