Akarapovic Exhaust Servo Plug

Just picked up my Anniversario from my dealer today. They installed my Akra slipons before I picked her up so I could hear her thunder.

Going through the parts in my boxes, there in the bag with my upmap box and exhaust installation instructions is a plug for the exhaust servo. My dealer left the servo and cables hooked up. I'll show this to my service manager tomorrow and most likely delete the servo and cables this winter.

Here's the plug.

So I stopped by my dealer today and talked to my service manager. He verified that this was the plug/bung that's used when disconnecting the exhaust servo motor. No check engine light will show, but there will be a code in the system showing that the exhaust servo is inactive. This is normal for the slipons with the servo removed or with a full system. Nothing to be concerned about.

Now I've read on here that those running with slipons and the servo and cables hooked up hear their bikes quite down when the valve closes in the 3500-5000 rpm range. I never noticed my valve closing at all today. Maybe it's got to do with the upmap or the new Evo programming?

Either way, it'll be a winter project for me as I'm going to remove the servo and safety wire the valve open.

Yeah I'm not sure when that valve closes either. When I started mine up with no exhaust when I was putting the Akras on, the valve stayed wide open idling in neutral. It still had the stock fuel mapping and everything. Oh well, the control box is gone now so no chance of it closing.

If the valve is still there, be sure to safety wire it open.
