Diagnostic software

I spent some time last night google'n for info about aftermarket diagnostic software or a scanner to look at some live data on my 2012 1199, check codes and reset lights. The more I read, the more confused I became. I own a few automotive scaneers, Snap on MT2500 and a GM Tech 2 so I value the insight gained with one. Does anyone have some definitive info on what's out there, what bikes it works on, what the capabilities are, and what is required to put together a package that works? I owm one bike, so buying a $1000 to $3000 package makes no sense, buy a few hundred would be a good investment.

Thanks,

I am not an expert in this, I have just started to do some research about ECU tuning and found available options to be Tuneboy or RexXer. By reading around here I have understood that Tuneboy have the possibility to reset service light (when tuneboy software flashed to the ECU). Not much mentioned about this on theribweb page.

Now it seems also seems that RexXer have that possibility. Following text is copied from RexXer web page:

The RexXer also offers the following functions:
Diagnosis function
Reading and resetting error codes
Service functions
Reset Service alarm
CO trimming
TPS setup
Reset autoadaptive parameters

I am playing with the JP Diag stuff on my 1199. Just started took a few weeks to get the cable and using a elm327 scanner. Alot of people have had good luck it does work for clearing service light and no special maps needed like Tune Boy.

OK! Please keep us informed about the outcome of your playing!

Then again, does this also work if you have e.g. Tuneboy or RexXer maps installed?

Yeah I will be messing with it over the weekend so will definitely let you know. There is a JP Diag forum with lots of info on this and bunch of people using it with success.

As far as having a Tune Boy map or Rex installed on the bike and using JP not sure. I can post the question and they will answer so I will check.

Ok! Nice! Yes I have to decide how to tune my ECU first for my full termi (as it was purchased without upmap) and can probably get some kind of diagnostic as well as reset service that way (via their flash modules). But there is also the option to have the flash done e.g. by an official rexxer point and no need to purchase the flash module. Then I am really interested in this (if possible also for flased ECUs). I may already have suitable cables left from my RSV4 and guzzidiag times.

Your cable will need to be OBDII compatible also you will need is a 1.4 or 1.5 ELM 327 scanner with USB plug. I ordered my diagnostic cable on eBay here is the link.

Here is the link to JP Diag if you scroll down you can see the melco-diag software which is for a Panigale (Mitsubishi) ecu.

Here is the link to the forum so quite a bit of info and help with getting setup.

Thank you! The cable link did not go direct to cables so unsure what you refers to. But cables I have is these Diagnostic Interface for GuzziDiag JPDiag DucatiDiag and should work.

Now I see that JPdiag is former ducatidiag. I will look deeper into this when I have more time. But please keep on posting here about your progress with testing...

Sent you a PM Mick1976

Thanks Poe sent pm's back.

Also a update on JP Diag went through lots of snags and loopholes making the melco-diag work out in the 1199. Once you get the right ELM scanner and DDA cable getting this all to work is a breeze.
