proper order on flywheel side

i got a used 996 that i am trying to get sorted it.

it had some pretty bad starting problems, so i went to do a refresh on the internals of the flywheel side, starter, etc.

The sprag was COMPLETELY destroyed.

I am not fully sure, but i think the order of things internally were not correct.
there was a washer behind the small driving timing gear against the case, instead of after the timing gear between the roller cage.
here is the order from the case
flat washer > driving timing gear > roller cage > inner ring > timing driven gear > sprag > flywheel >belleville washer> nut

I think there should be a flat washer or shim between the driving timing gear, and the roller cage.

should there also be a washer or shim between the case and the driving timing gear? I dont think so, but want to be sure.

I know it has been previously messed with, as it has a lightweight aluminum flywheel.
i will be replacing the starter, intermediate gear, flywheel, sprag, starter timing gear, cage bearing, inner ring, nut.

I Ride: Panigale V4S
I'll be honest I have no idea, but I often go to the parts book/fiche to work things out.

Ricambi_01-37_996_USA.p65 by Ducati Omaha - Issuu

Pages 12 - 13 and you have an exploded diagram of the clutch, basket, fly wheel etc.

You didn't give much info so the link is for a 996s. Hope this helps?
