If they are connected but lose, there is not enough current to run the bike but there may be enough to turn some panel lights on. I would check the ground cables on both ends and the positive battery cable too. Bad grounds can cause really weird ECU issues on modern machines with various sensors and a CAN bus architecture ......ask any 911 owner about that.....especially the ones with PDK.

I Ride: 2017 1299
It happened to me last June (75F at night, engine temp about 105F) on my 2017 1299 Base with about 4,200 miles...in the fast lane (like in your video)! Stalled and had my speed frozen on the display - let's just say I'm glad a cop didn't stop by to check it out. Ended up being a blown fuse, no error codes. Dealer could not replicate the issue and tested for a week, they said it could've been a defective fuse. I've had no issues since, but I keep extra fuses and tools with me. I've read about harness issues as well, but I've taken the time to get over it and not worry anymore. That's why I took the extended warranty

FINAL RESOLUTION OF MY ISSUE:

Burned FUSE. We just change it and my bike is alive again simple like that.
