Reading some of the comments, it seems that a lot of people think that passing on a double yellow, should carry the death penalty!!

I just don't get the outright hatred some people have for motorcyclists... To the point where they wish death on any one of us. This is the mentality that is becoming more and more prevalent.

Absolutely NO excuse for what the car did, assault with a deadly weapon if not attempted murder...

THAT said, riding like Squids/Douchebags has consequences.. counting on others to obey the law when the rider is acting like the typical squid, is not smart

I wouldn't even call that riding like a squid. Sure the pass wasn't legal, but the rider had plenty of room to complete it safely.

I found the video taker and the actual guy that got hit and his girl... she was in surgery this morning for a compound fracture of the arm (don't know the side) she had to be life flighted from the scene for other injuries. the rider is bruised up good but no serious injuries.

his comments are as follows.. yes, I know I broke the law buy crossing the double yellow. I am in the wrong.. that road is a 60mph road the guy that hit us was doing that until the second car and myself caught up to him then he slowed to around 40 for around a mile. I got in the opposite lane and sped up to pass him I reached a speed of around 55 when he swerved and I couldn't avoid catching the rear bumper.

Not going to lie, have passed on a double yellow line where there is plenty of room countless times (Traffic Offense). But having a driver intentionally swerve to hit you is a whole different category (Criminal Offense)!

We all know that we are not supposed to pass on a double yellow but why does this old coot think he is the judge, jury and nearly executioner?

To me the double line is just a suggestion . If it's safe to pass I'm going to do it different story when I'm driving a car .
That guy needs to be skull fucked for pulling that move .
Thanks from VAST, b9009b, Macattack and 3 others
