Moments in Motorcycling.

Recently I went on a trip to Phillip Is to watch the MotoGP. I was in a group of six and not one was a Ducati let alone a Panigale. There were 3 Kawasaki GTR, 1 Honda Blackbird, 1 Kawasaki ZX14 and my K1300S Beemer. On the first day on a quiet road we were all riding along at a good pace, in a staggered formation about 1 bike length apart going into a right hand bend which crested a hill. The view in the background was distant mountains and the ocean. I had some nice music going and mated with exhaust note of the bike in front of me made the nicest music to me ears I have heard in a while. Coupled with the rush of wind and the feel of the road through the Metzeler tyres on the beemer gave me a real rush.

One of those times when you remember why we go motorcycling. Does not matter which bike you have, they are all fun.

Yes sounds like a good moment in time. I hope you don't mind me sharing mine.

I had one last week on my 1190 Adventure with wife on the back and following a friend and his wife on a GS, we went the back way through Crescent Head along the Belmore River to South West Rocks Pub and back. He's been riding only about 5 years but picked it up quick and I drag him along to track days (he has a 16 s1000rr).

But like you we were in the groove comfortable with each other and cranking along at quite a pace with hardly anyone on the road,`I thought then that this a great feeling not going really hard but still experiencing the feeling of speed and stability.

Ride on.

It's why I ride.

I live in the Houston suburbs and had a business lunch in Austin a little over 200 miles each way yesterday. It was a very rare day (to say the least) that I as able to ride the motorcycle for work because the guy I was meeting with is also an avid rider.

In my 43 years in the work world I don't think I have ever looked forward to leaving for work in the morning as much as I did yesterday. I was even able to do about 150 miles of some of my favorite back roads.

I Ride: red 2015 Multistrada
I remember this year at COTA riding in everyday with my dad on his Goldwing and me on my Multistrada. We stayed in Marble Falls, which is about one hour away from the track. Enough time for it to be a good ride, but not so long that it was tiring. Starting off every morning before the sun came up and getting back in as the sun was setting made for a long day, but it was a ton of fun. For me, motorcycles is something you share with someone. Looking up ahead following my dad was an experience I'll always remember.

Thanks, Brad for starting this.
