I think you'll go through much less money with the Yamaha. Maybe you should ride the V4 before you decide to part with Ducati.
Here is the real deal Thamer. My 1199 is due for 15k service. There is no way on earth I am paying 3 grand for that. Also my 600 ninja needs about 3000 worth of suspension work for me to get faster. My suspension is stock set up for about 175 lb rider. Im 225 without gear. Right there to keep both is 6k. If I sell both I'm about at cost of a new bike.
I want the v4 but I want an R. Next year the R comes out. I'll wait till the following year. To get it after the hoopla you can get deals or a used one. I wont make the same mistake with Ducati twice.

If the R1 wasn’t so fugly I may have got a newer one... had a 04,05 and 09 (09 was fugly though)

Parts and service is way cheaper and what I miss the most, have to take out a small loan to do anything on the panigale.

ha no i will be here i will get v4R when it comes out this is just to satisfy my track needs. i already have the bmw and its fine however i am thinking like like wilkson says just get the R and forget it. its a tough call. i could also get the R and track the hp4 but if i put it down it cant be replaced. i dont know i hate having all this time on my hands to think i end up spending lots of money.

You can't be wrong with the Yamaha. Rossi rides one, remember?

R1 alot of money for the bike, good support network and replacement parts are cheap.

Plus if you break anything at the track there are always replacement parts with the amount of guys riding it.

Iíd go with the R1M for the trackbike choice. As we both know the beemer is nothing more than a touring bike.

With the R1M youíll definitely have to spend the money to get the suspension set up for your weight as you would any bike. Rearsets for extra ground clearance. A flash to open up the power. Exhaust is optional, depends if you want the noise or not.

If you go the beemer route youíll still be spending money on the suspension. Rearsets as the stock ones are lacking in my opinion. Once again exhaust is optional.

If no issue with V4R and is to my liking, I will buy it... or maybe wait for V4SL. Regardless, I will track it and will track V2R as well. Dont understand "saving" a nice bike. If it's a nice bike...than it's a nice bike to track. You plan on never dying? give me some of that magic potion.

Just my opinion.

Your life, your money, and your bikes. Enjoy however you like it.

R1 is a better track bike. M is a waste of time. Get a std and add pressurized cartridges and shock of your choice.
Not that the Beemer or Gixxer etc arenít good, just that the R1 is a level above.
