Seems exactly like advertised. You can see the dyno sheet clearly says "BHP" and not "WPH". Although the power spikes lead me to believe that the operator didn't know how to strap a bike properly. That or the bike has 20hp dips, which would be horrible so I doubt that's the case.

Something definitely not right with that dip.. I’m sure it will be a great bike!!! I owned a 2015 and really liked Racing it.

Someone should remind them that the new S1000RR is actually a 2020 model. I have a deposit on one with the M package. Should be here before the 4th of July. I hope my clear bra friend can squeeze it into his schedule.

I got to throw a leg over Nate Kern's at my local BMW dealer when he introduced it to the locals here. We had a few beers, discussed bikes and he explained a lot of the thoughts behind the new model.

Finally....BMW smartened up and made some nice lookin headlights. It actually is a realllllly nice looking bike now. Based on looks alone, I'd definitely buy one if I was in the market for a new bike. I've always loved the red white n blue color scheme. That two time massive dip in power though....I surely hope that's a mistake or misread somehow. That part of the dyno run is ugly!!

I know the new bike has the "shift cam" technology, which is variable valve timing, but the whole idea of that is to keep the power on tap, especially the torque. I think I'd like to see another dyno plot before I'd believe the BMW engineers would allow those kinds of dips.

One thing Nate did say was that there wasn't any power to unlock (like a race ECU), that it was all there, but that the exhaust was a restriction. I asked if they were going to have an exhaust partner that would keep the warranty intact, but the answer I got was that it would be up to the dealership, so I guess I'll see. I honestly didn't touch my 2016 and it feels very strong to me. I'm probably going to sell/trade the 2016 and at the end of the year or start of next year sell/trade the 2017 R1M on something new. Surely something will tempt me.
