Dumped the 1199R at the Track

So all i have to say is thank god for quality parts from Woodcraft Technologies.

If you are going to run your pretty bikes at the track the minimal you should do is invest in some good protection. My bar ends, rear sets and front axle slider took the brunt of the hit.

I was cooking around Canaan NH track setting good lap times. There is a off camber left with a hump/crest at apex. I lost my front and the next thing i know i was sliding. Thank god it was a slow corner 45 ish. I am still not sure if i gave it bar input or not. The expert racers think the front end got light or was off the ground cresting the hill and when it came down it was all over with the lean angle i was carrying.

The rear set ground down 1.5-2", The hand guard and front axle also saved the bike. The gear sifter toe end piece also went bye bye. I have very light scuffs on the rear fender and upper. Just a week prior i had ordered an Armour Bodies race body (which wont be in for another 3-5 weeks.

Thanks to a good crew at the track and amazing track support through Woodcraft, i was able to get the bike back on the track by my next session. I had to replace a peg and the gear shifter toe piece. The parts were only $35 and got me through the day.

We have a dealers challenge race , part of a 3 day race event which i was able to be part of. Starting from the back of the pack 6th row i was able to make my way to 5th in 4 laps.

Some people think i am crazy for turning this bike into a track/race bike but i cant imagine this bike being anything other than what it was designed to do. GO FAST ON TRACKS
Thanks from Phl, MMC, youngR and 3 others

I tracked and track both Rs that I had. It's crazy not to track a R.

Good news on the minor damage.

I Ride: '16 Pani R, 1098R Bayliss, KTM1090R.
I crashed my '16 R a few weeks ago. Has been a track/race bike from new.
First proper crash in 23 yrs of track riding. Wasn't too bad, just bloody annoying.
As long as you are good, the bikes always fix.
Thanks from Twistedracer and 1299rFE
