Howdy....so a german giving up the beemer for Ducati...what's that all about? I am still trying to decide between the two...awaiting test drives of both next year. Though tonite after rereading the Engineering specs of the 1199, I think I am sold. Oh it's supposed to be sunny with mid to low 80's here in Orlando tomorrow...what's it like in Bavaria?? Sorry couldn't resist....Auf Wiedersehen

hi from cold bavaria

hello,
yep, the beemer was great in every way. but the duc is a beauty, not that aggressive i think. the bmw 4 cylinder screams at 11.000rpm and give you a perfomance you might be scared of. cant wait to experience the difference between them both.
and - yeah- still remember the days at longboat key and sarasota fl.
one of my favourite places to visit.

greeting from the cold, ice and snow of the german alps

karl

Hello Karl from Germany and welcome to the forum. Is that you sitting on the bike in the first picture? If so, can you share how tall you are as I am 5'7" and wanted to know see how the bike feels.

That is a great bike stand in the second picture, who makes that?

Cheers.

hi from bavaria

hi 512bb,
yes thats me at the 1199 presentation in munich. i am as tall as you.
the panigale seems to be perfect for our size.
there where some guys from austria, taller than me, had some problem with this tiny duc.
on the second picture i did some "photoshop" to see the differences
between my bmw and the duc because i wanted to order as early as possible before i was able to see the bike in reality.

the paddock stand is from Bursig Paddock Stand by Bursig.com Germany
the same is available from bs-motoparts.com - cheeper -its a copy -- but maybe as good as the bursig. you could watch a nice video about the paddock at bursig.com or youtube.
the connection plate is available for many bike manufacturer.
i love this paddock because its very easy to handle and great for storing the bike during wintertime or maintenance.
the panigale might not work with the paddock because there is no real frame.

cheers
