I Ride: 2016 Ducati Panigale 1299s
Thumbs up new guy on a 2016 1299s

I just traded my 2015 BMW K1300s for a new Panigale 1299s. As another poster put it, dropping off my K felt like leaving my dog at the pound. It was a great bike. I put 20K miles on it on one year. I was half way through the 3rd set of tires.

But when Panigale fever gets a grip on a person there is only one cure.

As of this writing I have completed my 620 mile break in and the bike is being serviced. Supposedly the revs above 6000 will also be enjoyable.

My initial goal is to use the bike on the road, while retaining my license to drive it. Eventually I may do a track day, but not at first. I live in western Massachusetts, so I have a lot of country roads to ride on, none if which will support triple digit speeds (at least not sustained). But spirited riding is available out my door. New Hampshire and Vermont are within 20 miles of my home.

I hope to learn and contribute on topics having to do with "cost of ownership". Maintenance costs on the Pani should be lower than on the K13. Tire costs may be higher. But time will tell. By reading this forum, taking in the range of opinions, I know I will learn a lot.

Before last year I rode Harleys. I love Harleys still, but I've moved on.

Welcome aboard! Probably not as comfortable as the K, but it'll put a smile on your face for sure.

If a sore arse = smile on your face. Lol

J/K, after a hundred miles, you won't feel a thing.
