I Ride: 1199 Panigale
Talking This bike is going to drive me crazy

I just bought a panigale today. A 2012 standard still in the crate. The only thing is that i live in washington PA and we've got about 2 and a half months of winter ahead. Should be getting the bike delivered to my house this saturday and ill be staring at it everyday until a decent day comes along to take her out.

I'm 22 and i'm moving up from a ZX6R. I've been riding since i was ten and ridden all sorts of bikes but i've never looked at another bike and wanted to ride it as bad as this panigale. I never test drove one so i'm kinda dying to jump on this bike. i know i wont hate it because im not picky about the things ive read most people complain about this bike, so i just wanna find out how much im going to love it.

So what do you guys think, should i wait until winter is over to take her out or should i put on the warmest gear i have and take on some back roads in below 20 degree weather?

Yes i did. Its about an hour drive from my house and the employees are very nice people. Lee, the man who sold me the bike, told me their ducati technician is amazing so im expecting my bike to be free of any loose parts or other common problems people have experienced. i just cant wait to have her in my garage.

Armando,
I live in MA and wouldn't take my 1199 out on the street because of the salt and sand now on the roads. You also never now what patches of ice could be waiting for you around every corner. Only you know the condition of the roads in PA.

Tough call...sounds a little chilly but I'm not sure I could resist the temptation and would have to go ride no matter how short the ride was. Enjoy!

i feel for you man. im in nyc and its freezing here right now. our roads are crap and salt and sand i couldnt deal with it. my suggestion go online find some parts play around with the bike that way. soon enough you can ride care free.

all that being said ive seen guys around here riding all bundled up i just dont know how i cant even drive with my windows open right now.

I just picked up my 1199 from them as well on the 13th of december. they were great to deal with and have taken care of everything. i have had no issues with loose parts or anything like that and i went over the bike thoroughly. i know i dont plan on taking the bike out until all the crap on the roads washes away but thats just me. im down in morgantown so if you are ever down here riding let me know.
Thanks from ArmandoGallegos

I share your pain. I am in Ontario and I just picked up my Tri on December 21st. Snow, sand, salt and too cold now to ride. Spring is just around the corner.

My bike I down for the winter until April. I wouldn't take it out, you'll have plenty of riding for 9 months in 2013. Like you, I didn't care what it rides like, I was going to like it regardless.
