Slipping clutch

Hi fellow racers,

Is there better / stronger clutches than the oem ?

Mine "died" in the last race in the weekend, and I'm now wondering if there is a better option than just a new oem.

Good question! Also I am not so convinced of ducati's way of designing an anti-hopping wet clutch. I checked for EVR and STM, personally I am a big fan of Suter. But because of the costs I didn't go a step further yet.

If you don't mind a psycho grabby clutch that you can't kill, see if Barnett is doing anything for the 1199's

I heard somewhere the 1199 clutch was identical to a GSXR 1k, a rumor that might be worth looking into.

No idea, just something that floated around when the bike was released. Rumor had it that Ducati bought clutches from the same subcontractor as Suzuki. Been trying to get someone to validate the info, guess it will take an owner with the clutch in his hands to go to a Suzuki dealer and compare.

I just bought a Yoyodyne for my 899 and am currently awaiting delivery... I was going to buy the STM as I understand that it is an improvement, however the cost was $1,050 vs $850 and I was able to get 10% off, so I wound up paying $765 no shipping or tax. I am wondering if anyone has any insight as to how it compares with the stock 1199 slipper and others on the market.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but it seemed an appropriate place to ask.

Thanks.
