Belly Pan Question

Searched the forums - did find a helpful pic from wilks but still have some questions.

I'm using CRC fairings and belly pan, and having some trouble with fitment. Did you guys cut off the metal tab at the bottom of the lower radiator? Did you trim the large plastic thing sticking out (that the radiator tab fits into) at the bottom of the trim panel?

Seems like the front of the belly pan should go between the trim piece and the lower radiator, just having some issues on the method. I'd rather not cut any OEM stuff but will if that's the only way.

Thanks!

Derblot,

I am running MotoXP Ricambri race bodywork. Right now, I do not have a bellypan on my 1299S. MotoXP is sending me 2 bellypans at the end of this month or early December. When I receive them, and we fit the bellypan, I will pm you with a picture. I have no idea, right now, of how the bellypan is going to fit because the side fairings wrap way down to the top of my Akro exhaust system and the bellypan is going to be a super tight fit. Even my mechanic commented that it is going to be a b*tch to fit the bellypan. But, where there's a will, there's a way. I'll be in touch. Highside49

Sorry forgot to get back to you .I cut the locator tab and the plastic off the shroud . Your right the radiator does go between the plastic trim and radiator . I was not happy with the belly pan reducing the flow to the bottom radiator so trimmed this as well .

Thanks everyone, I was able to get the bellypan to fit with some minor modifications to the pan itself. I also had to chop off the radiator trim tab piece, same as you Wilks.

I'm using an Akrapovic exhaust, btw, if anyone was curious.

Wilks - do you have to remove the bellypan every time you change the oil, or did you cut a hole and have it plugged with something?

Also - does anyone have pics of the air tube install? Does it attach in any way, or just kind of sit in there inside the front fairing? Any mods needed for the 1299 specifically? I'm using an 1199 fairing stay.

Would appreciate some pics of this, and the attachment point (where the mirrors would normally be) for the front fairing as well!

I remove the exhaust every time it gives me the opportunity to give the bike a decent clean as well .
The plastic air duct on the bottom of the headlight is removed and fitted to the fiberglass panel that comes with your kit .
You will need to make up some brackets for the top mounts on the fairing stay I was able to buy some carbon fibre ones but they are easy to make
