The MotoGP championship comes down to 4 bikes. 2 factory yamaha 2 factory honda. there is no other team or rider for that matter that will win the title if they arent on 1 of those 4 bikes. can we agree on that much as of today going back to what 2009? now if we do agree that is the case you only have to beat 3 riders to win the title if you are on one of those 4 bikes. Basically stating that no matter what just for showing up you have a 25% chance of winning. can you tell me the last time the 2 factories didnt come in places 1 through 4? i cant think of it.
The honda is an inferior machine this year last year and the year before. its just extreme talent by MM that won him the title last year. Rossi blew the 2015 championship because he couldnt win races. its that simple. JLO had an incredible season and came back to win. rossi could have shut the door on him and won the coveted 10th title but he simply could not win. again if you cant WIN you cant compete. the nicky win a lot of things went into that and that doesnt need to be discussed (tires machinery luck etc) not taking anything away but that was a different time (11 Years ago)

now let me ask you. do you think maverick is competitive? im going to say yes you think so. now if JLO wasnt insulted or butt hurt at yamaha with the rossi drool he would have stayed. where would maverick be knowing rossi was signed for 2 more years? at noncompetitive suzuki. just like zarco is at noncompetitive tech 3. does that mean zarco isnt a great rider no it means he is on machinery (2016 M1) that makes it impossible to win and he doesnt have a chance because there is a guy that cant win on the best machinery but refuses to leave. he did leave in 2011 because he wouldnt accept no 2 status. what happened then?

Back to rossi now the man is in the hunt (notice i didnt say competitive because my above stats prove he cant win) every race because of the machinery. Look at marquez he lost 50 points 2 dnf this year and he is only 7 points behind rossi. thats finishing in front of him twice not that difficult.

what do you think?
I see where you're getting here, but even with just 4 bikes, he still beat 2 of them during the last 3 years, that's something you can't ignore, and definitely not 'uncompettive'. Le Mans has proven that with a well setup bike, Rossi can match Vinales' ridiculous speed, and while he screwed up badly, was still pretty competitive to me.
I agree that if Zarco were to hop on the M1 that he might actually do a better job than Rossi, but sadly Yamaha already has a ridiculously fast rider (Vinales) and with a legendary name such as Rossi, with the amount of fans he has, and the amount of people that want him to get the 10th title, the PR he generates is something a manufacturer would be foolish to just throw away. Thats the game of MotoGP now. Does Zarvo or anyone else deserve the M1 seat? I'd say no, only because Rossi didn't get to where he is by chance, he earnt it. He's 38 and taking on people over a decade younger than he... I'd watch that, and so would others.

What a season it has turned out to be! Some really great racing and with no clear run away rider. The last race I was out of my seat with some great passing going on. Padrosa on Cruchlow. Marquez push from 4th. Zarco on worn tires holding on to Maverick. Rossi, the older statesmen still showing he still has fight lift in him.

My friend called shortly after the race mad that Yamaha didn't have team orders to Maverick and Rossi to hold station. I told him I am glad to see both riders fight it out to the end. Would you rather have riders that would settle for 2nd second or fight till the end? I for one was glad to see Rossi still have the aggression to fight for the win at the closing final turns of the race. And look at Maverick, he fought on that last lap so hard he posted a lap record on his final lap! I wish Marqez and Rossi didn't crash, the chase for the title would be even closer.

This has turned out to be a great season so far!

so number 2 status at factory yamaha or the second place guy at yamaha 2nd place out of 2 is the loser not the runner up. the former guy at yamaha whoop you every year (50% of the titles) and the other guy (50% of titles went to Marquez) this year maverick will beat you so as i have been saying this guy is not competitive to win the title. win a race maybe win a title no way. as for set up thats pretty funny as his team doesnt even have a baseline setup. they steal mavericks setting as rossi use to steal JLO setting. the championship this year should be between maverick and rossi but rossi has no shot. the M1 is far Superior than any bike out there but rossi cant come close to mave on the same exact bike.
maverick crashed once and was still only a few points behind and would have passed him anyway. as i said before marc is only 7 points behind rossi and he has 2 dnf. that is noncompetitive. i didnt say he is unwatchable i said he has no chance of winning. Im also tired of hearing the age thing. its a built in excuse. just like uttico (whatever his name is) marc is sabotaging rossi in 2015 completely made up.
