You really don't take the trouble to read people's posts properly Mark, or you conveniently elect to quote sections of them out of context. I said he has a shot at a win, if things play into his hands. Merely pointing out that he still has the goods to get the job done given half an inch, as opposed to your wearisome choice of writing/slagging him off at every opportunity (yawn). I also stated that I'm not fussed one way or another if he wins preferring to see an outsider mix it up there with the usual front runners, such as Bautista, Petrux, Smith, Redding. Difference being I applaud anyone who can complete at this level, as even the slowest rider on the grid would embarrass even the faster trackday rider on any given day on equal machinery, so for that reason they have my respect.

You're only prepared to validate someone as being worthy of a place in a team/on the grid, if they are regularly fighting for a win. That rules out all but three teams by your standards, or do the overall standings thus far not spell that out for you. In any case, whether it's 2, 3 or 4 competitive teams, if Dorna adopted your standpoint of what constitutes competitiveness, we'd be left with a handful or riders, all others having been consigned to early retirement as they've no chance at a podium and had the temerity to assume they might actually win a race. Can't wait to see that championship succeed.

The old man is second fastest in FP2, not bad for a washed-up "non-contender".

I guess u didn't see the first guy. The guy you have to beat that just put in a 1:59. Same guy that is leading the championship same guy that won last year. You rossi guys make me laugh.

Why does an athlete at this level (Rossi or otherwise) need to win to be a crowd favourite? There are plenty of great personalities in the sport, and battles. The requirement to select a sports hero based on their winning / losing stats is quite short sighted.

Correct, sadly some people have no ability to digest the information presented to them, preferring instead to spew out the same viewpoint / argument irrespective of how flawed or unsubstantiated their misgivings are. There really is no hope for individuals this isolated from reason and judgement. The rest of us can rest assured that in the real world, riders are judged on their performance as a whole and not solely their position on a grid / podium.
