If you've got your own gear, I'd recommend bringing it, more comfortable and better fit on you. At the very least bring your own gloves and helmet.

Are you bringing your own gears? I am not sure if I want to bring my leather suit, gloves, helmet, and boots. I may bring my own helmet and maybe boots and gloves? Probably wont bring leather suits.
Thanks from youngR

So, first I am stoked (Australian for happy) that at least one track day company bothered to respond to this thread, given the number of pani owners who have or intend to take their expensive asset to the track and also to improve their riding I'd like to have seen more...

I have not responded to the initial opener because I was waiting to see how many of u had an opinion and where the response came from...

I'm a little surprised at them lack of interest from the UK, but pleasantly surprised with the response from the US... Keep it coming... This thread is really important... To everyone who wants to be a better rider..

We have CSS, Ron Haslam, Rapid Training and many others running track schools here in the UK.

Some have more track time than others, some run over several levels over several days and some are an intense 3/4 of a day.

What I would say is if one wants to ride with any gusto, do a proper training day on track and use your own bike. It is the only way to really get confidence in what "your" bike can do. Using another bike just tells the brain what that bike is capable of.

(PS Bowdy, just because I come from the UK, it does not mean I will have a different view from anyone else!)

PPS: If you are insured with MCE Insurance they do track day cover for 99 per day.

Totally agree, given I'm from the UK, the comment was based on knowing these track day or ride schools exist but I'm surprised so little has been mentioned about them... There is a lack of schools here in Aus which is why I started the thread in the first place...

Great to see some info up on the forum now...

Thanks

Much appreciated

We have CRT and Race Academy. This coming april I will do the two days racing license exam. Not sure I will do the DCR and/or OW Cup races this year but it is just fun to do this. At 49 it was time for me. Having fun is the major thing.

Thanks Bowdy for throwing up this thread! I've read some of your suspension threads and one day I hope to understand half of what you were writing about and more importantly how I'm going to translate that to my riding. I'm looking at personally signing up for a few track schools to help me "create" good track habits on the track that I can use to make me a better rider on the street.

CaptCF: I saw the Keith Code school as well and I'm on the fence about it. I think the 2 day is a mandatory their bike I want to use mine so that I can better adapt to how I ride it.

I'm eyeballing Roger Lyle school for a few sessions at Summit in WV and perhaps Code when he comes to ViR.

In the meantime it's just riding and reflecting while reading Twist of The Wrist 2 for me. Figured it's as good a place to start as any.

Maybe this thread will just turn into a sticky up top with school URLS?

You should also read nicks other book. Sport Bike riding techniques, I got mine signed at YCRS lol. I always loan it to new riders.
