I don't think he can spend another 2 years waiting for Honda to reconfigure the bike so he can win on it. My bet is he will be back on a yamahopper next year, with a team built around HIMSELF.

I dont think Rae will do it. He’ll get crushed in GP and hes stated its too late for him now. Might as well stay in wsbk a few more years

while i agree with you honda wants him and has the money to get him. something is up over there as he would have signed a kawi deal already. they are waiting for spain.

dani is not competitive anymore and rae wont be a challenge. rae will get paid marquez will win everybody is happy

I Ride: Anything with 2 wheels!
Rea was competitive on a Honda when he filled in for Casey.

1 dovi went to ducati in 2013 and did not have his first win till end of 2016 season. took him almost 4 years (all 13 14 15 and almost all 16 to do it) while lorenzo did it in a year and a half.

2 yes dovi had 6 wins last year but if he didnt would we be talking about lorenzo leaving after 2 years as they kept dovi nicky and probably kept rossi if he wanted to stay.

3 ducati is notorious for not giving what the riders ask for except when they had rossi. mr stoner can attest to that.

i guess what im saying is that lorenzo isnt really that bad and if he is that bad dovi must really be bad

I agree that it took almost 4 years for Dovi to win. However, that's not the whole story.

The main difference is that while it took Dovi a lot of time to win, he wasn't being beaten fair and square by his teammate every single weekend. Not only beaten, while Dovi was fighting at the front and winning some races, Lorenzo was languishing midpack.

And maybe Dovi took 4 years to win because he (and Gigi, Pirro, Stoner and the all new management department) had to develop the bike from what was a brick to ride in the corners to a somewhat good bike.

I'm not very enthusiastic about Lorenzo but I reckon that he has a tremendous talent and he is excellent when everything suits him.

I'm honestly happy about his win after being beaten in the media right and left. However, we've seen this before... Lorenzo in the pre-season tests broke the Sepang lap record but after that he was nowhere close to the front.
So, if in the next GP he can be competitive, then I'll be convinced that something really changed and maybe the things he asked Ducati for, were really what he needed. Until then, I'm not buying into this media frenzy of the "new Lorenzo".

There was nothing new about Lorenzo this weekend. In fact, what we saw was the Lorenzo of old, demolishing the rest of the field from lap 1 when all the factors were aligned to his taste.
And we shouldn't forget that Marquez crashed, three Ducatis were fighting at the front (almost until the end when Petrucci had to back down) so the bike is obviously great in this circuit, and Dovi surely was thinking that after two DNFs he couldn't risk going after Lorenzo and risk a third DNF instead of 20 points.
Nevertheless, it was an impressive win, he never backed down up until the finish line.
