Shakey Byrne - update

Did anyone see Shakey on Eurosport at the weekend ? That was some headgear he was wearing with the four bolts drilled into his skull and the scaffolding to hold his head in place. It also looked like there was a lot of support for it around his chest and shoulders.

I'd be surprised if he came back, the risk of permanent paralysis or worse ( he said the doctor told him if he had another crash and injured his neck due to the forces transferring through his now heavily stabilised spine then paralysis would be the minimum he could expect.. )

Leon Haslam for the BSB title this year then?

Sad to see him in that shape. Such a great rider and competitor. I hope he makes a full recovery. If I was him I’d retire know that my next crash could be my last and he’s already an accomplished champ so nothing left to prove out there
