Bautista to Honda WSBK?

Rumour has it that Bautista is being offered more money and the promise of a new bike by Honda for next year than his current offer from Ducati, which would leave the factory seat open for say... Redding ?

Honda offered Bautista a lot more money and a new motorcycle for 2020.

I don't think based on past evidence Honda won't have a chance in WSB.

It's interesting, Honda has the money to be very competitive when they want to be. I don't understand the loooong regression after the 2002 World Superbike championship.

it seems like to me honda hasn't put any money in development and hasn't changed the bikes since Toseland won in 2007.

what I cannot understand is why try? if there is nothing in it for them why do they keep coming back with the same shit bike - embarrassing themselves.

IMO honda lost its mojo in the nineties

It could be that they don't see the Superbike market as being very profitable and the old adage of win on Sunday, sell on Monday isn't as relevant in todays markets? Whilst Marquez is winning, why should they worry about WSBK ? I think that MotoGP has a bigger worldwide audience than WBSK these days, it was quite the opposite back in 2002.

Given the cost of developing a new bike it might simply not be worth their bother? I imagine that revenue from motorcycle sales is a relatively small percentage of their overall income and revenue from superbike sales hardly figures at all.

Or who knows, perhaps they have a new 'Blade lined up and ready to dominate the WSBK championship and magazine tests..

Alvero needs to go for the big payday's, he isn't a kid anymore. I have a hunch Honda will roll out their RC 213VS limited bike as a Superbike, even if they have to sell them at a dead loss.
