Monza SuperStock 1000

Anyone catch this race on BeIn Sports? Another fantastic race! Close racing, lots of passing and several brands battling for the win! If this is the future of World Superbike then maybe it won't be so bad lol.

YES! I love Superstock racing because it's so much closer to what we buy off the showroom floor. Plus, the racing is just fantastic. I hope BeIn keeps showing the Superstock races as now I'm really into that series and want to see who wins the championship.

Everyone expected it, so not too surprising. I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing. I think it will make production bikes even better. Obviously if the bikes have to be closer to stock then the stock bikes better be damn good. Frankly, this is how it should be IMHO. Let MotoGP be the prototypes they are supposed to be. I just wish the global economy hadn't tanked so bad that Suzuki and Kawsaki would be in it and the series would be a bit more competitive.

Unfortunately, this probably means the death of the superstock classes or at least superstock 1000. Maybe those riders and teams will move the superbike and we'll have larger fields? Who know's I guess will see.

Dorna has already said Superstock will be axed, and replaced with a smaller bike series - 250s or 400s or something like that. Apparently they have cool small bikes in Europe, and I know they run a series comparable to the Red Bull Rookies Cup on 500cc CBRs or something like that.

On another note for us Yanks, remember when DMG gutted AMA Superbike a few years ago. Mat Mladin left in disgust saying he'd rather race a full-on, built-up Superbike than a barely hopped-up streetbike.

Now we have Josh Hayes, Josh Herrin and Martin Cardenas with the aforementioned hopped-up streetbikes that are breaking lap records set by the cost-no-object Superbikes a few years ago.

Racing can indeed improve the breed.

Oh man, you don't have it?

It's actually an Al-Jazeera owned network that now broadcasts in the USA on Comcast, Bright House, and other cable networks. They have the complete SBK coverage, which means just short of 5 hours of race-day live coverage. Both SBK races, the Supersport race and the Superstock race when those are run.

Now they have even added a 1-hour coverage of Superpole on Saturday. It utterly blows AWAY what Speed channel used to do.

You're really missing out if you can't get the channel and love moto roadracing.

+1 - thank god they added it to the FiOS lineup a month or two ago. Totally agree with JeffD - the coverage is amazing.
