I met Neevsy over dinner at the pub as he competes in the Thundersport GB race series that I've just started doing, albeit a faster class. He was talking about the test and mentioned that the GSXR scored the fastest 1/4 mile they have ever tested but didn't talk much about the Honda. I asked him about the Pani and he said it's still the benchmark that the others are trying to match, but it's cheating because it's 1299cc and £22k
Thanks from mhaddad

Hey now....it's 1285cc. 1299 is just part of the name but who cares, right? Lol

It sounds like they are saying all the bikes are equal. Kawasaki won one year, then Yamaha, then Ducati and now Honda. Bet $100 Suzuki wins next year with same bike. Buy what you want, these tests are only entertainment.

I was picking my 675 up from BSD in Peterborough when Bruce and Emma from MCN rocked up in 2 vans a couple of Saturdays ago, and proceeded to unload this lot. The Honda was filthy! Quite odd seeing lot of money just constantly emerging from the backs of vans. The young lad at BSD said it'll be between the Pani and BMW. They tested a Pani a while ago and he said it was the most powerful stock bike they had tested, H2 aside! Meanwhile my decatted 675 came out with 118bhp and 52 lbft at the rear wheel. It's almost as fast as my 1299 now!

Is it just me or did they look pretty disappointed in calling the Honda #1!? It sounded like they were forced to say so

The tests I've read on the Honda complained of the ABS kicking in to early and not being able to be turned of. As for the rest of the electronics it sounded like a beginner kit from ten years ago. As usual Honda is way behind the curve and charging to much compared to the other Japanese offerings.
