do it. i bought rizoma reservoirs and i bought crg arrow mirrors for a lot of money. my buddy bought off ebay. same thing without the brand the mirrors were actually better cause i slipped it on the bar end no adapter needed. even the boxes were the same. where do you think they are getting them from and marking them up. thats right china.
Thanks from Phl

mark 419 is correct, most stuff these days is made in China & some of the manufacturing companies over there actuality make good quality stuff. I but titanium nuts & bolts out of China and are just as good as what pro bolt sells but at a fraction of the price.

Interesting, what are you using as a qualifier that the nuts and bolts that are coming from China are of equal quality as other sources? Do you have metallurgical data and material certification specs from both vendors? I would love to see them.

Thing is China will happily give you a piece of paper with anything you want to meet certification.

Did that to a children’s hospital recently built here asbestos in roof sheets, lead in plumbing pipes, fire doors not meeting code.

Yea not surprised. The aerospace industry spends millions dealing with counterfeit parts from China. Not saying that some day they will make respectable precision components but for now, Iíll try and limit my exposure to restaurants. Japan certainly overcame the ďjunkĒ stigma and Korea and Taiwan are making some decent pieces. Taiwan is doing some pretty decent high end bicycle components and I know a lot of folks like the ProTi stuff. Hardware from mainland China, no thanks especially anything load bearing or critical. Chinese Ti fairing screws, sure OK. Take an SPS 6V4AL Ti fastener and a Chinese 6V4AL Ti fastener and take a small tooling cut out of them on a lathe and see what happens. Who knows where ProBolt or Podium get their stuff from but again use some caution when sourcing critical and load bearing hardware. I get all my metric Ti fasteners from an Airbus contractor or from SPS unless itís something that doesnít need a spec then Iíll use Mettec. A brake lever, that I would for sure pass on as I would consider that a critical part and if itís Chinese, Iím just not going near it. A brake reservoir, seat, mirrors etc, youíre probably fine.

this is what i mean. i also would not do it for important parts or weight bearing parts. a shift lever i think he will be fine.
