The more I look at this the more it appears the rider was pitting in without throwing his arm up.

Ultimately the CR did make a mistake, but I think it's clear the rider in front sees the red flag, rolls off the throttle, and starts to lean towards pit in.

i've been saying that as well about I group. hate it. More crazy accidents in I than any other group - especially in the Northeast ego driven groups. . .

Glad everyone came out ok. . Did N2 ban discussion of this. I don't see anything mentioned on their board at all. . .

Yea I am sure they have. They have handled it like shit IMO. I am A with other orgs and was figuring I would get the bump with them to get it across the board. I agree, I is a scarey group.

I had not put your name here together with you on FB. Buddy, glad you are alive! I watched the vid many times, and will reserve my opinion about the control rider's riding, but they way they acted after the fact is a shame. I guess N2 really is NESBA2, no different in attitude.

Isn't there a red flag from the post on the right hand side at about 33sec.? Can't really tell because of the video quality... But if there is, then the control rider f*cked up bigtime..

Even though the rider in front clearly attempts to enter the pits rather un-announced and unexpectedly, the control rider should have ridden with a bit more safety margin when under a red flag... Right?

there is clearly a waving red flag around the 30 second point.. . CR says he looked from the apex and it wasn't there but I think that was to CYA because from the apex when he's there you can clearly see the red flag waving vigorously. . That doesn't explain why the rider didn't raise his hand before rolling off, but all three riders should have been raising arms and slowing down with the red flag up.

Also, from the video, you can clearly show at 5 seconds that the rider that is down is down and not "on her knees and trying to get up" - so in the back of your head as a control rider you would imagine that they are going to red flag to roll an ambulance out there to check the rider out.. . this "control rider" obviously just ignored all the information that should have been processed. You would expect more, but keep in mind, most of these orgs use volunteers who are sort of marginally compensated for doing this. . so it is perpetually a problem.

I work as an instructor/control rider a lot, and you do have to ride a lot different than you usually do just to avoid getting yourself in risky situations at the track. I think that this control rider isn't doing this in this particualr clip. The red flag is pretty clear, and the rider that crashed previously was clearly down which means that the CR should have anticipated the red flag. And even though the rider in front does a unexpected manouvre, the control rider should not have put himself in that position in the first place.

That being said... Everone can make a mistake... Just come clean and say "Hey, I made a mistake... I rode too agressive, didn't pay enough attention to flag signals and other riders, and I crashed, dragging two riders with me..... I'm sorry!"
Thanks from JeffD and MrKO
