Phillip Island Track Day

Hi all,
Took the Pani out to Phillip Island for the first time, I had only had it three weeks when we made the trip from South Australia down to the Island.
All I can say is wow! What an amazing bike, really fun to ride and so nimble. Mind you I came from a 2010 R1 (big bike).
We spent two days at the track, the first day was getting to know the bike and changing all my lines body position etc as everything is completely different to the R1. Second day I fitted slicks and upped the pace a bit as the wether was perfect.
A few issues came up towards the end of the second day: I started finding it hard to find neutral, and by the second last session I could not change down gear. Had to come in early, bled the clutch quickly and was out again for the last session (although fluid was low). Temp fix got me going again. When I got home I did a full bleed with new fluid and its back to normal.
After a clean etc back home I noticed a coolant leak, found it and fixed it. Loose hose clamp?? I will post picks in another post.
The throttle mod I did worked perfectly and fixed the slop I was getting. Much better and much more responsive.
Rear shock was a dud on the first day. A lot of rear end movement, made a few adjustments and wound it up a lot. Fixed the issue and tyre wear was very good. For a medium fast rider I found the stock suspension to be fairly good. I didn't have any issues with instability or driveability on the second day. I ran Metzler K2 slicks 190/60 rear without any problems. The data from the DDA shows traction control kicking in as it should. I ran T/C on level 2. Up from 3 on the first day.
All in all I am very pleased with the Panigales performance. I have attached a few picks.

Thanks from Marmoot

It's a great track to ride around isn't it.

I'm so envious right now, haven't ridden there for a few years now.

Sounds like you had a blast!

The Island is my favorite track that I've been on thus far! But when I was there they had just finished the resurfacing, and tires were getting ripped to shreds - I'm sure it's much improved.

I got rid of the OEM rear shock within a couple of months and went with the Ohlins unit. Very much worth it.

Nice pics btw!
