Rt. 421 "The Snake"

For anyone who's never been to Rt. 421 the Snake, Rt. 58 the Python, and Rt. 16 the Back of the Dragon...here's a little video my buddy and I took last week. Awesome racetrack smooth as glass roads with plenty of grip and clean. I'm on the 18' R1 and my buddy following is on his 15' 1299s. Not many on the forum here actually ride these roads the way your bike was intended but I know there's a few of you racers still out there. Hope to see you guys out there and ride safe!

Thanks from ChrisE, cpekz, rrgermanlv and 1 others

Cool video. Been there many times.

But maybe people on this forum... "here actually ride these roads the way your bike was intended" on the RACE Track where it is actually "racetrack smooth" and much faster.

I've seen so many cars/trucks coming over the line on these blind turns...good luck to your future adventures.

Unfortunately YoungR, most don't on this forum. I alternate between both. Too old to get blasted by the next Marquez wanna-be this far in the game.

I'm not the fun Police but promoting knee down on public roads won't get a thumbs up here I wouldn't think by many. I work low on the ladder in our public hospital theatres and are kept quite busy with motorcycle road trauma, big nasty and certainly life changing stuff (for all concerned).

You'd be surprised how many track ride bikes here, much better being blasted by nutty squids on the track. You won't be happy with the advice but maybe someone else will.

Great road, I like to keep it to the track also but that’s a beautiful open road. Get that head off your tank and over towards your mirrors along with dropping your shoulder and not just dragging your knee.

My 2 cents for the day

Normally I would but the video doesnít show the road ascending the 8-9% grade. Itís almost like riding up an elevator with 90-180 switchbacks. Canít see through to the next corner otherwise.

Guys, looking to hit this ride again in early October. Unload at the Back of the Dragon store in Tazewell and hit the loop, about 260 miles of nothing but pure epic ness all day long. Pace will be similar to the video unless guys are feeling frisky and we’ll drop the elbows. Pm me if you’re interested!
