Just wondering how many people have had their water pumps leaking?

Mine was in getting 7 recalls and TSB's done and they discovered my water pump was leaking and they have another one in the workshop leaking as well.

V2s had similar issues. Interesting that V4 is having the same if true.

Yeah the V4's will end up having more crap fall apart and recalls then the V's just due to the factory making .... more n more cheap as time goes on.

Go to any dealer/service shop you will still see V2's stacked up out the door around the corner waiting to have the broken parts replaced with new crap that will fail again.

I love my V4 but some of the plastics, fasteners and metalwork brackets etc. are just absolutely shocking. I can produce better welds than those found on the stock exhaust. They clearly cut corners on costs in certain areas, without a doubt

When you say 'water pump' are you referring to the internal pump or the thermostat housing, which is predominently where the V2's problems were based?

Mine is in getting water pump replaced, but is 5 weeks outside warranty.
Ducati are providing the parts FOC but I have to pay for labour.

I am absolutely fed up of this bike - it was in the dealership having the failed rear hub replaced whilst the warranty ran out and have only been out on one ride since getting it back and the pump failed spitting all my coolant over the left hand side of the bike and rear tyre

unfortunately that is the extent of good will these days, unless you chase it up with the relevant fair trading equivalent in your country. The water pump was a recall item wasn’t it? If so, statutory warranty might apply?

I had a turbo Diesel engine blow up on me 9 months out of warranty. Toyota provided au$12500 in parts (2014) and I paid about $3k in labour... but in hindsight, am thankful. Jeep wouldn’t spend $1k (2019) on my 4 month old au$82k car lol!!

I just don’t get these 2 or 3 year warranties on $40k to $150k vehicles, and/or fighting warranty claims in warranty period???

just today on the track.
showstopper. nobody has the pump, nobody could change it quickly.
on my honda it would take 15 minutes to change the pump.

My water pump keeps on leaking again and again and I cant figure out what to do. Like as soon as I cross 800km it starts to get loose. I think there is something else bothering it. Can anyone guide me through?

I would say the engine is far from cheap and very well put together, and honestly it seems like they give a .... on the V4s. I had a monster 821 it was a great bike but the engine bay looked cheap af. This isn’t just a Ducati thing this is an on going trend across all brands including auto makers

My 2019 V4S with 13,000 miles on it is in the shop again for warranty work. Both valve cover gaskets are leaking oil and I had a coolant leak on the left side of the bike in the middle of the V of the engine. I was living with the oil leaks since it wasn't that bad, but the coolant leak prevents me from riding. New water pump and gaskets on order. Also Desmo service is coming up at 15k miles, working a deal with the dealer since the valve cover gaskets are changed during the Desmo...hopefully a nice labor discount will happen when they do the Desmo service mixed in with the warranty work.

My thermostat housing cracked, causing one of the hoses to completely pop off, about 3 laps into my first session of the day this past weekend. There was a dealership sponsor there and the techs said they have seen 4 V4s suffer the same failure over the last few weeks and end up in their shop. I intend on replacing it with a milled aluminum version for sale on HSBK racing's site.

Hey man yeah just get one of the Febur's from HSBK easy to swap out will last forever and never crack.

The same, my bike is in the shop too because of coolant leakeage due to water pump seal failure (also 13,000 mi), this will be my 2nd water pump replacement, the cooling system sucks. I´m afraid this issue will be recurrent after warranty expires (I heard there is a new Part Num. for the water pump, hopefully this time is a permanent fix).

Thanks for the info on the new Part Number....I am going to ask about that. Have you thought about extending your warranty?

The Febur kit deletes the thermostat. Do you have experience running vehicles once the thermostat has been removed?

Hsbk sells another one. It’s made by CBE. Looks like that one might have provision for a thermostat?

Great combo for the stock radiator. You will have to remove your left electronics panel and battery tray stuff to get in there to do all the work.

Don14R has never installed any of them pieces so zero experience there. Don you have a radiator for that custom build bike?

Febur bypass pipe and Samco hoses on order from HSBK.

It’s not a great combo for his stock radiator/water pump. That is why I mentioned it

Yes I have experience running no thermostat. Do you?????

Yes, I bought a oversized upper from Ed. 33mm thick iirc. Gonna prolly use Febur half n half down low. T stat delete AND a water pump that is made for running no thermostat

: )
