For sale is my Ohlins Steering Dampener. It is an aftermarket Ohlins unit, not the oem version from the S, Tri, and R. It comes with the box, stickers, screws and everything you need to install.

Very good upgrade for Base owners, necessary in my opinion.

Condition:
99.99%

Price:
SOLD

Bow to the greatness of FF as he is so superior to us.

It is named a Steering Damper, but since it dampens stering, it is grammatically correct to call it a steering dampener.

Incorrect.

Dampens, as in gets things wet.

Damps, as in it damps motion.

Two different things. Now get back to class Simple Jack.

Go look up the word dampener in a Webster's dictionary and let me know what you find.

Damper - Definition and More from the Free Merriam-Webster Dictionary

Definition of DAMPER

1 : a dulling or deadening influence <put a damper on the celebration>
2 : a device that damps: as
a : a valve or plate (as in the flue of a furnace) for regulating the draft
b : a small felted block to stop the vibration of a piano string

You ain't winnin' this one Frosty, but go ahead and try! :)

Damper is only a noun. It refers to (1) something that deadens, restrains, or depresses, (2) an adjustable plate for controlling a draft, and (3) one that deadens vibrations.1 Damper"˜s corresponding verb is dampen, which means to deaden, restrain, or depress. Of course, dampen also means to make slightly wet.2

A dampener is someone or something that dampens.3 So damper and dampener can both refer to one that deadens sound vibrations. But damper does not work for something that makes something slightly wet.

Funny, the word dampener isn't in the dictionary.
