At about 10K my 1199S started cutting-out on hard launches from a stop even with traction control turned off (irrespective of mode). At the 15K service they said it was due to a bad hall effect shift sensor. Fixed the sensor and said hard launches were achieved without issue. NOPE!!
It used to just carry the front wheel so nicely with some revs and a quick release of the clutch. I could launch that thing instantly. Now a popping noise occurs, the traction light comes on, and the power cuts out. If I don't catch it with the clutch it will lurch and try to shoot out of my hands when the power returns.
I told Ducati I suspected the speed sensor. They said the speed sensor checked ok. I'm hesitant to change the clutch out as the problem started at only 10k....insufficient clutch wear. It's really pissing me off. The other day I got smoked by a Harley from a stop and I was caught sitting in the middle of the intersection with the bike cranking over and over to start. WTF?!
Has anyone tried riding the bike with the speed sensor disconnected? Otherwise, I'm out of ideas.
