Hey guys,

I'm considering moving from Pirelli Supercorsa SPs to the Superbike slicks, but the rear tire comes in 200/60 not 200/55. The manual is very specific about the tire size and the traction control system.

Can any track day-ers/racers comment on their experience with the system and tire sizes? Is it also possible to have a Ducati tech at a dealership calibrate the DTC for a different size tire?

Setting 1 in the manual says it's developed for the SC2 compound, but it doesn't specify tire size. I'd also like to be able to work my way up to that setting on the DTC system and not just set it there from #5 and roll out on new tires.

Cheers,
Joel

I run those just fine. Tc set at 2 when I'm tired, 1 when I'm in beast mode.
Those settings run just fine with supercorsa sp 200/55, sc2 200/55, or superbike slicks 200/60 rear. Front sizes are about the same for all.

I think a recalibration of the DTC, if it was possible, would be beyond the scope of any dealership.

If you're not out racing our out trying to break lap records, the SC2s in TC2 are good enough to keep up with a lot of guys on slicks, plus you don't have to worry about maintaining critical temps or heat cycles.

I'm also considering keeping the Supercorsas and starting with the SCs before moving up to the Superbike slicks.

I'm just trying to make the best decision as to avoid anything unpredictable with the electronics. Thanks for the input.

Rode on wet winter day with my sc1/2 supercorsas yesterday. Was going to the track but didn't feel like using the ute so just ride the bike down there. Maaan it was dodgy as lol

I run the SC1/SC2 slick combo on my 1199 on DTC 1. No adjustments to ECU and I don't believe that's possible either.

I like DTC 1 a lot. It seems like enough rope to have a little fun but enough nanny to keep things from really going off the rails assuming you don't do anything massively stupid.

Have you run higher levels of DTC with the SC tires? I feel like I'm pretty smooth and pay attention to my throttle but I don't know about going out with different tires and DTC 1 together the first session next track day.

I worked my way down to DTC 3 on OE Supercorsa SPs. When I switched to slicks I dropped from DTC 3 to DTC 1. I haven't used any other settings since switching.

If you aren't comfortable with it don't do it. Just leave DTC on the setting you're comfortable with and go down as you gain confidence.
