Noticed a fuel leak the other day while I had the bike ideling (warming up) before a ride. I noticed clear fluid collecting under the bike, slow drip from the bottom of the fairing. The fluid turned out to be fule. I turned the bike off and let it cool to observe for further leaks - nothing. Started it yesterday morning to see if the leak was still there, and it was. Took the fairing off, but could not locate the fault. When I spoke with the mechanic he thought it may be a seal or connector issue under the tank. The leak is small and only happenes when the bike is warm. The dealer and ducati roadside service worked as it should - great experience. However, I am ab bit concerned with a temperature dependent fuel leak on top of a "nuclear furnace". Could potentially get really hot very quickly. The bike is in the shop awaiting diagnosis and potentially parts to have the issue rectified. I'll keep you posted on progress.

Might be as simple as the fuel line...make sure that is plugged in tight until it snaps. Don't ask me how I know...lol. And good call taking it in if you aren't sure....don't be riding that.

Got a call from the mechanic today. The bike is ready for pickup and the issue was a broken tank connection. A new and upgraded version is available and was installed. Could not get more clarity on the topic, Since a new and upgraded part is available my best guess is that this is a well known issue - at least in some circles.

You mean the fuel line plastic connector that is attached to the tank?

There are stainless aftermarket ones available to replace these plastic fuel line and gas tank connectors available...precisely for that reason.

Same thing happened to mine last week, fuel leaked through my MWR air filter too.
