After having endless issues with the motorcycle as a race bike I have came to the conclusion of retiring my 1199r as my race bike.
This has been a tough decision to make but i can no longer use my 1199r as my main race bike.

I have thought of returning the bike back to its stock form, and selling it.
It has low miles (3500) - is a 2015. _

I am moving onto a more affordable more reliable platform where data, parts, knowledge are more easily accessed.
I have decided to move to a GSXR-600.

I will be running the 1199r this weekend and then retiring the machine.

Despite this being a Ducati board, that gixxer sounds like a very practical decision on many levels for racing. Good luck with the project

I buy “a lot” of Duc parts. Mostly engine parts, seals etc. The cost is not outrageous on a lot of things, it’s downright obscene. The cost of a cam chain gear for the SL was 885 bucks. A ....... steel gear. Take a look at the cost of a piston or cylinder. The brand is a gross ripoff for the do it yourself racer/mechanic. Electrically, bikes are a ....... nightmare. If you have skills, a healthy budget and you don’t bin it often, it’s a decent platform but you can go faster, farther for a lot less on something else with a lot more support. Don’t get me wrong, I love the platform but I do recognize that my ability to support it myself and in many instances make my own parts makes it so. If I had to do motorcycles all over again, I’d be on a different brand for sure.

Yea I think I'll keep my V4 maybe 3 years and then move on to something a bit easier on the wallet.

Yep, the brand is about passion not performance or practicality. Look at WSBK then tell me that a Yammy or a Kwaka is not in the same league.

At that level sure however we’re talking privateer effort here. I’m fielding a Yamaha or a Kawasaki all day long. You have way more parts availability, brand support, aftermarket parts support etc. What’s the contingency $$ look like from Ducati? The brand is engineered to make $$ and to discourage owner intervention. Quite the opposite what I would be looking at from a platform. I don’t currently follow WERA, CCS etc but what are the numbers for Duc’s in the field?

.... all, I thing Dukes are looked at like "preppies go racing with daddys money"

Bikes a great platform but you’re going to pay more to get it there. The brand has had to field 2 motogp riders and a WSBK spec machine and funding to try and get a Motoamerica shot and had to get Herrin on a factory prepped V2. They have another motogp rider in WSBK and how many bikes in GP now and they still can’t win a championship. ...., that’s a lot pride right there.

But yet they are leading the constructors standings.

Without Quartararo, Yamaha doesn't have a chance. Espargaro really ...... up last week going from 2nd to 5th after thinking the race was over with one lap to go. That cost him a lot of points.

Of course they are leading the constructors championship, they have more bikes. And Yamaha, Honda and Suzuki are all fielding GP world champs while Ducati isn’t with more bikes and more funding. Case closed. As far as riders go, get FM off that factory bike he has no shot of winning on and give it to Raz.

Overturned on appeal...That's not how it works and that's not the entire list. Just enough to show all the Ducati standings. Its a Ducati forum after all.

If seven guys are on Ducati bikes, only the one who finishes highest, adds his points to the constructors championship.

Are you really going to tell us that if I field 10 bikes and you field 2 bikes that the mathematical odds of me placing higher in a constructors championship aren’t there?

actually think Bautistas going to do it this year... if they don't jack with the rev limit and make him start falling off
